Can I just say something? Why do they expect me to stay healthy yet work my ass off for 10+ hours a day? I sometimes get a 30 minute lunch and a 15 minutes break sometimes I just get a 15… Wouldn’t be a big deal if I could sit or get water or use the bathroom at some point but I can’t. One shift I had to pee for over 5 hours before I could go. Now I’m gonna go into EMS eventually and that’s something I expect but even then it get to sit at some point and have a chance to get a bite every once in a while. I can’t think of very many jobs you spend sweating your ass off running around lifting equipment taking care of people and working in warm environment in non breathable lab costs. My body is starting to suffer to I went to the internet to find ways to make it through long shifts. First thing that popped up was to hydrate yourself… Its kinda hard to hydrate when you can’t get any water unless your on a break and can’t pee unless your on a break. And you can’t eat until break either so how do you keep your blood sugar from messing up? And it’s not like being super shaky isn’t a problem. I’m a phlebotomist so I have to keep a steady hand. To add on to having no breaks I have my direct supervisor who hates me cause “I’m a threat” and I go by the book. I don’t break protocol especially protocol that can end up harming people and Thats an issue with her. Then the supervisor above her is bffs with her and so she hates me as well and our assistant manager puts them both on a pedestal and so she hates me and all three constantly come up with lies to try to get me in trouble. I got written up one day for being insubordinate when I simply stated that I can’t do something because it can cause harm and is strictly against protocol. Also to add I’m on our quality team. A member from each area is chosen to help mantain quality in our areas. So I really can’t just ignore protocols but that does not matter… I don’t really know what to do anymore…
