My media company had so much potential. I worked loyally for 3 years as the youngest staff, but I’m now leaving with sadness, anger and relief. The company promised me that they were going to accomplish many creative things, but as time went by, their vision turned into one rule – a rule that said “work hard, get paid. What else would you want?” People were nice and I learnt a lot, but the bosses micromanaged and excuses themselves by saying “but I pay you.” They criticised about my personal life, and they liked me more than older staffs simply because I was young, unmarried and cheap to pay. I had to live in the company to be liked. That in itself made me feel worthless. I’m upset, because the company was good nevertheless, but not fulfilling enough for me to have a better career later in life.
